When Michael and his wife, Lois, visited South Africa in 2003, they were shocked at the conditions children were being raised in. They immediately began searching for ways to improve these children’s lives. Soon, they were working with the community, crèches, schools, and teachers to find solutions – and they never stopped. Since the nonprofit’s founding in 2005, AWA has impacted thousands of people in South Africa by generating lasting, positive change.
