Woman Crush Wednesday #04: 16 Pounds Down and Still Not Feeling Hungry with Karen Matthews

Hi sexy and welcome back to the Sexyfit Podcast!

We are in our Woman Crush Wednesday series, where we feature inspirational clients from the Sexyfit community who have achieved amazing results and who are in the trenches of doing what needs to be done to get to their goals. Each one of them is an expert, a hero, a determinant strong woman, whom you can relate to on many levels.

Today I want to share the story of our sister Karen Matthews, an amazing woman who has been with Sexyfit for only a few months but whose progress, inner strength, focus, awareness and mindfulness are totally astonishing.

Why did you start on this journey?

I’ve always struggled with my weight and my mother also struggled with hers. I tried every diet under the sun but at one point I just started putting on weight. Nothing inspired me until I found Sexyfit. I enrolled into the January Makeover Challenge, which was tough but worked out wonderfully. I got the scale moving for the first time in 2 years. I cried tears of joy when I stood on the scale and saw the movement.  

I was sure I could do the Sexyback Mastermind as well because I wanted to endure. I wasn’t sure if I could do it financially, but I made some adjustments to make it work and I’m so glad because of it. I’m down 16 pounds now and got 10 inches off. It’s very emotional because it’s been a long journey for me. I can’t say enough good things about this program and the community. You guys are always there for us, you are totally amazing.  

What did you learn and what changed in your lifestyle in the last couple of months?

I learned that I’m stronger than I thought. I used to think I was a bit of wimp but I’m not, I can do this. I don’t have any children, so it’s me looking after me and having to do this for me, and that’s another big lesson.  

I had to learn to not want to work out every day, but to stick with the plan you gave us. I eat more, which is crazy and that’s a big lifestyle change for me, because I’ve been on a diet for the most of my life. Actually, I have not been hungry since January! Another major change is getting used to receiving compliments from people because it’s working.

What would you tell to your old self?

Hang on, there’s hope. I’d given up on everything and on myself, but I knew there was something out there that would work for me. And it did.

What tips can you pass to the Sexyfit sisters who are considering starting this journey?

I would tell them to jump in with both feet and a big smile on their face because it’s going to work. I’d tell them to trust the community, to open up and trust the process. I’m so thrilled with my results, but I couldn’t do it without the support of the Sexyfit community.  

 

Karen is one of my favorite transformational sisters. Her story is so inspiring and it returns hope to all of you out there who might have lost it along the way. Remember that she has achieved these results without starvation, actually by eating MORE and working out LESS. That’s the magic of the Sexyfit method.
