This week Ron and Elizabeth pose the question “Why when Australia is one of the wealthiest countries in the world are women still financially disadvantaged when it comes to income and lifestyle?” In discussion with their guests, Dr Olivia Ball, human rights activist and Greens Mayoral Candidate for the City of Melbourne and Jeanette Large CEO of the Women’s Property Initiative (WPI),  your hosts endeavor to work out why this is so and what can  be done to even things up a bit.

Interesting topics for discussion include the disparity between the financial assets of men and women at the end of their working lives; the importance of housing as a foundation for growing wealth; some great ideas to be implemented by all levels of government to improve women’s access to affordable and secure housing and hope for the future with the generational change taking place in primary schools where money management is now part of the curriculum for girls and boys.
