When you hear about the environment and the environmental movement, any number of things may come to mind. You might think of wildlife conservation, or public lands, or climate change. Or you might think of pollution and environmental justice and renewable energy. And lately, more people are also beginning to think about women, and the way women’s rights intersect with environmental rights.

Terra Verde host and Earth Island Journal Managing Editor Zoe Loftus-Farren talks with Osprey Orielle Lake, Founder and Executive Director of the Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network International, and Tracy Mann, Director of Climate Wise Women, about the unique ways environmental issue can impact women, the special challenges that women face in fighting for the earth, and the distinct benefits associated with including women in environmental decision making.
