We have all started something and stopped before reaching our goal, a diet, learning a new skill, a DYI project, etc., we start but allowed something to distract us and eventually we stopped before reaching our goal.  No one ever sees success by quitting before reaching her goal. Today, we break out of failure; today, we explode the norm; today, we become resilient! A few months ago the Women’s CAMP team hosted a series, we called “Spring Forward Fearlessly ”.  In the series, we coined the phrase Bounce Back Power (BBP).  Resilience is just that. The ability to remain focused on a goal and overcome setback, defeat, disappointment and rejection with BBP. Our opening quote gives us the vision of a champion raising her hand in victory because she was resilient, overcoming every adversity and challenge, to achieve her goal—“being the best!” Ladies, you are resilient. We must set our expectations, keeping in mind the pitfalls and triggers that impact our triumphs.  Too many people prefer to lower their expectations or walk in a life of no expectations. Those who do this find themselves right where they expected—no where. As women who are on a mission to launch into our destiny, we must both set expectations and manage them.  Setting expectations gives us the target to shoot for. Managing those expectations helps us to identify the pitfalls that can derail our journey and the the triggers that may hinder or accelerate our progress toward triumph. In the process of fulfilling our expectations, we will face setbacks and times of disappointment. If we’ve taken the time to anticipate and plan for those moments, we can minimize their impact on our journey to success. In those times, we must be willing to first look at ourselves and ask, what, if anything did I contribute to this situation, I now find myself experiencing? Only then, can we begin the search to unlock the chains that slowed our progress. In being true to ourselves, we take control of our development. We change the things we are responsible for and ignore the distractions that seek to take us off course. Ladies, we must be intentional and courageous enough to address the woman in the mirror.
