When it comes to relationships, women leaders are expected to be healers. We’re taught to smooth ruffled feathers, soothe old wounds, and repair breaks and tears.
But that repair work takes enormous energy. If you’re wasting it on propping up relationships that no longer nourish you, what do you have left for the people who make your heart feel full?
Laura and I are wrapping up our season on Growth as a Removal Process by looking at the connections we have with other people, and why we hold onto them even when they aren’t good for us. We’re giving ourselves and our listeners permission to evaluate our relationships honestly, to prioritize our time and energy, and to evolve or let go of connections that take more from us than they give.

Each one of us has our own Truth. It’s the sum of our deepest needs, our dearest values, and our most strongly held beliefs. Unfortunately, women leaders are trained to hide parts of themselves, or to water them down to keep other people comfortable.
This episode of Women in the Business Arena is about the power of truth-telling. Not just speaking truth to others, but owning our own Truth and honoring ourselves.
What’s standing between you and telling your whole Truth? Is it self-doubt, fear of rejection, or the assumption that you’re just Too Much? Laura and I will help you identify and remove those obstacles to being your authentic self, and discover the growth energy we uncover when we stop hiding our essential selves.

One of the strongest barriers between us and the growth we’re seeking is internal and invisible. It’s rooted in the ways women were taught that certain parts of us are good and meant to be nurtured, while others are bad and should be rejected. We waste so much energy trying to block off or hush up feelings that we’re taught to fear.
Laura and I want you to know that all the parts of your very human self are worthy. When we honor all our emotions and energies, we can turn our time and energy to integrating them, and moving forward as our whole, complete, authentic selves.
In this episode in our series on growth, we’ll help you start to remove the obstacles between you and the self-acceptance and self-love you deserve.

When it comes to marketing, so many of us are doing Too Much. Social media, networking events, client calls, live video: the options are practically infinite. Trying to be everywhere at once is a recipe for disillusionment and burnout. Diluting ourselves doesn’t just sap our life force, it wastes our time and waters down our impact.
This week, we continue our season’s theme around how Growth is a Removal Process. We ask a vital question.
How can you simplify your marketing to increase your impact, conserve your energy, and meet your ideal clients where they are?
I’m excited to explore this topic with Nedra Rezinas. Nedra is a marketing consultant who helps service-based entrepreneurs learn to delegate and outsource so they can scale their business and do more work in their “zone of genius”. She has over 20 years of direct experience in marketing and online business, specializing in developing custom marketing strategies that attract high-value clients.

When you hear the word “resource,” what do you think about? If you’re like most of us, what comes to mind is external. Money, time, employees, training: they’re all things that come from outside ourselves.
External resources are limited and finite. But inside each of us is an unlimited reserve of power & strength. This week, Laura and I talk about what we can embrace when we stop looking outside ourselves for sustenance and return to the infinite sources of power inside ourselves.

In our culture, women are expected to “keep it all together” even when the pressure is pulling us apart. We are expected to hold space for others when we don’t even have space for ourselves. We shame ourselves for feeling fear or needing comfort. And we carry these ideas into our community spaces.
This week, we’re giving women (including ourselves) permission to remove that pressure and abandon the illusion of “having it all together”. We are also encouraging you to seek out spaces to be your authentic self.
Investing in spaces that give you permission to truly be yourself can transform your life and work. It shifts your relationship with your values, your desires, and your power and helps you access your full potential.
In a personal, intimate conversation, Laura and I explore the power we unlock when we allow ourselves room to be vulnerable.

This episode continues to pull on the thread of growth as a removal process. When we set aside everything else, what’s left is ourselves, our values, and our breath. Listening to our bodies and focusing on simply breathing can help us remove the distractions, stress, and overwhelm we feel on a daily basis. Body and movement teacher Cass Ghiorse is here with simple practices for experiencing and reclaiming our breath.
Are you ready to imagine a culture of women leaders who are fully embodied and unapologetic about their existence? So are we!
Cass Ghiorse is a body integration teacher, breathwork facilitator and the founder of MIDLINE: a methodology that supports people in understanding and connecting to their core Self in essence and expression.

This week’s episode is a throwback to my other podcast, The Feminine Lens. It’s a solo episode, where I shared my thoughts on strengths, weaknesses, and why it’s so important to identify your unique genius. So much of professional development is built on improving skills or tasks that we’re not very good at. This approach reinforces the falsehood that business success is tied to our worthiness. I want to help you reframe this whole concept. When you stop wasting energy on your “flaws” and instead center everything around your innate genius, you can build a business or life that aligns with your authentic self.

This week’s essential growth tip flies in the face of everything you’ve probably heard about owning your own business or stepping up in your career. The key to growing your success isn’t through doing more.
------> If you want to unlock real, sustainable growth, you need to Do Less.
Laura and I share our experience working with clients and being business owners. We had to face the anxiety we felt around slowing down and learn to trust ourselves.
We’ll help you see that rest and spaciousness are essential to growing a successful business, and that the growth really does come from doing less, not more.

Welcome back to a new season of Women in the Business Arena! I’m so excited to spend this season exploring a topic that’s extremely personal and powerful to me. As entrepreneurs, we’re taught to always be growing: growing our client base, growing our offers, growing our profits. But for so many of us, “bigger” and “better” are actually opposites! Regular co-host and mental health expert Laura Shook-Guzman brings her insight back to our mic, as we introduce you to the possibilities we access when we let go of excess, dissolve old patterns, and remove what no longer serves us.
