In 2023, women proposing to men is no longer considered out of the ordinary. As gender roles have become more egalitarian and the traditional boundaries of marriage have become more fluid, it is no longer taboo for a woman to take the lead in proposing. Women feel empowered to ask for what they want in a relationship and are no longer afraid to propose. Men are just as likely to accept a proposal from a woman as they are to propose to one and often find it refreshing and exciting that a woman is taking the lead in the relationship.
