According to the Law Society of South Africa, only 21% of admitted attorneys are black women. According to the SA Women Lawyers Association, only 28% of admitted advocates are black women.

Whilst the profession is often described as traditionally white and male dominated, there are female-led firms emerging and resetting the scales of justice.
