As we approach Christmas, we're invited to explore the profound gift God has given us in Jesus Christ. Isaiah 9:6 prophesies this gift, describing a child born to us who embodies hope, wisdom, and divine power. This prophecy, written 700 years before Jesus' birth, reminds us that God's plan for our salvation has been in motion long before we recognized our need. Just as the people of Israel faced darkness and oppression, we too may experience times of gloom and distress. Yet, the promise of a 'Wonderful Counselor' and 'Mighty God' assures us that we're not alone in our struggles. Jesus, as both fully human and fully divine, offers us perfect wisdom and unlimited power to navigate life's challenges. How might our faith be strengthened if we truly embraced Jesus as our wonderful counselor and mighty God in every aspect of our lives?
