Wooly Mammoths of the Ice Age and other Colombian Mammoths of the Ice Age were strong and majestic animals.These majestic animals roamed the ice age grasslands and tundra of North America and Asia. Frozen fossils are still being found in thawing from the Siberian tundra. The woolly mammoth diverged from the Steppe Mammoth about 400,000 years ago in eastern Asia. Its closest extant relative is the Asian Elephant.
