On the first Word On The Streetshow, we have Carolina and Leah as your hosts, Loryah in charge of the Social Media channels, Leanne driving the desk and Jinge as our producer. In this show, we bring you an interview with Rob Blow, one of the communication secretaries at the University and College Union committee at De Montfort University, who is explaining why the university and college’s lecturers and staff were on strike on the 24th, 25th and 30thof November. We are also going to hear people’s worries about climate change and meet Tyler Grant-Hooley, co-coordinator of the Youth Strike 4 Climatebranch in Leicester, and Benazir Mohammed, a volunteer at the branch, to get a better understanding about the movement and to find out more about climate anxiety. On top of that we asked the public if they had changed anything in their daily life due to the cost-of-living crisis. Coming to the end of the show, we will learn more about the Leicester-based sustainable clothing brand Saint & Saviours, with an interview with Nick James.
