On the first episode of my limited summer season of Word to Us, today I’ll be talking about my favorite books — both contemporary and classic — and bringing attention to the current literacy and literary crisis that is plaguing the country. Spoiler warning for each of the books I mention because I’ll be going over the plot, my initial reactions and my current feelings as I reflect on what makes them my favorites.
