“I’m glad we’re in a society now where we encourage each other and we realize the importance of taking care of yourself in order to be of service to the people around you,” Mariel said. “When you’re happy, our kids now it and they can feel it. … I always try to bank on the fact that one day they’ll understand in the same way that eventually when I became a mom, I understood my mom better.”
