Rabies kills tens of thousands of people every year, mainly children. Almost all infections originate from dogs. India and China are particularly affected, but also Africa. The disease is preventable, but incurable. Anna Haw is a veterinarian at the Vetmeduni Vienna. She is involved in the Global Alliance for Rabies Control and organizes vaccination campaigns in several southern African states.
