World Radio Day: Power of broadcasting in our native languages?

We continue with the theme of the day of celebrating the medium we use to convene and exchange ideas. In celebrating our chosen medium for public discourse, we take a moment to focus on indigenous language radio stations and discuss their role in promoting conversations, cultural preservation, and expression. These station’s role extends beyond mere broadcasting as they are often seen as to serve as pillars of identity and community cohesion. We take a look at the role and power of an indigenous language radio station with a scholar, and we ask a veteran radio broadcaster about his views and experience of broadcasting in his native language. We ask as does broadcasting in one's native tongue enhance self-expression?
