Held annually on the 05th of October since 1994, World Teachers' Day commemorates the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 International Labour Organisation recommendation concerning the status of teachers.

Today we reflect on the working conditions under which teachers are expected to perform under; the societal challenges that we face as a country and how they end up in the classroom; AND the role of teachers in the advent of technology.
