What better time than the middle of summer to talk about Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and what better place to celebrate the World's Elsewhere Theatre Company's production of it than a podcast with mostly members of the rep? In the first of two episodes discussing WETC's first production from all the way back in 2020, I speak with Ilana Greenburg-Sud, Regina Russell, Emily Clark, and Sam Marchiony about their experiences with Midsummer, and how they all aimed to use it as a bright spot in the midst of the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Black Lives Matter protests occurring after the murder of George Floyd.
Disclaimers: The following podcast contains swearing, and discussions of pandemics, racism, and police brutality.
In Each Retelling is a pro-union podcast. Any mentions of struck work is strictly in relation to the topic at hand, and we encourage you to do all you can to support the strikes.
