The mold from the town’s Guinness World Record 20-foot-tall edible cookie was turned into a permanent monument (The cookie was eaten). Named "Smitty," the Gingerbread Man was taken down for a cleaning in mid-March 2017, returned in late Nov. 2018.

The Gingerbread Man is back in the trees at the left end of the little park. Smithville is a neat little stop. There are many photo opportunities at the welcome center where Smitty the Gingerbread Man is located.
