We are traveling through Texas and we are in Seguin, TX and we have found the home of the World’s Largest Pecan statue in front of the courthouse. There is a plaque below this statue that teaches you about how and why this place is known for pecans.

It was dedicated to Cabeza de Vaca, a Spanish explorer who was held captive on the Guadalupe, known then as the ’River of Nuts,’ for ten years.
