Have I ever told you about the difference between a worried parent and a wise parent?
A worried parent tries to keep his son or daughter from making mistakes at all costs. A wise parent accepts that she’ll make mistakes.
A worried parent wastes energy on trying to control everything. A wise parent begins to let go of control in increments.
Remember, Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Though you and I might be tempted to be worriers when it comes to raising teens, God calls us to wisdom in parenting. So, are you ready to switch from worried, to wise?
