SALT AND LIGHT YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH AND THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.
MATTHEW 5:13 (NIV) “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
What do a really good person and a really bad person have in common? The only real change they will ever have will come from a really good God!
WHAT DOES SALT DO? SALT PRESERVES. (Eternal life)
SALT PURIFIES. (Impure world—agent of purification)
SALT CREATES THIRST. (I want what you have)
SALT MELTS. (Heart is hard—melt it with the love of Jesus)
SALT HEALS. (Hurt by people/religion—healed by Jesus)
MATTHEW 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Matt 5:14-16
The world needs salt because it is impure and it needs light because it is in darkness!
IF YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, YOU WILL KNOW WHAT TO DO.
I am the salt of the earth and the light of the world. I am a Christ-empowered image-bearer. My life will make a difference.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE.
ACTS 16:25-34 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody’s chains came loose. The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God — he and his whole family. Acts 16:32-34
Don’t waste the salt or hide the light. Jesus has taken care of Satan. We trample Him! There is no reason ever to be ashamed of Jesus!
When we are bright and salty, people will want what we have.
People don’t care how much you know, they care how much you care!
