Palm Sunday is like oil and water. It is shouts of welcome, and cries of “Crucify him.” And we are participants in it all. The palms and the passion are together because this whiplash helps us confront an uncomfortable truth about ourselves: we are the crowd. We turned on Jesus so quickly because we are humans. And all humans are capable of breath-taking depraviltiy. Today we explore how God brings this internal civl war to cease.
