Are you using sacrifices and self-punishment to get something from God or to make up for some failure? Does that work? Is our relationship with God really that transactional? The Fellowship Offering described in Leviticus makes a clear contrast to that kind of thinking. God makes us clean. He wants us to be with Him, not just get something FROM Him.
