We continue our new series through 1 Samuel this week. In Chapter 2, Hannah's worthy prayer functions as a kind of 'contents page' and 'lens' for the rest of the book of Samuel whilst also providing a stark contrast to the unworthy nature of Eli's priest-sons. We learn that the way of life and blessing in the kingdom of God is not procured through selfish or strong-arm tactics, but through faithful and humble trust in the Lord. Afterall, he is the one who ''makes poor and makes rich- he brings low and he exalts.-
