TUKUA attends the preview night of WOW, the World of Wearable Art, at its 20th year in Wellington. The theme of this year's show is Rise, and they also have an inaugural prize for the best entry created by a Māori: Te Tohu toi Rākei.
TUKUA is 75-year-old arts activist and author, Ngāhuia Te Awekōtuku, Gen Z sculptor Brett Graham, and 24-year-old standup comedian, Kura Turuwhenua.
We take you to the event, interview the creatives involved and then discuss it back in the RNZ studio.
Our focus is on Māori and Pasifika artists but no-one is safe from the TUKUA lens.
