Consensus of opinion is not the path to truth. Truth must be revealed by the Truthful One o It is the Truth that matters. It is the Truth that sets you free. o I must be more concerned with speaking the truth than whether you like what I'm saying. o This is why it is necessary to understand proper submission to authority. And what authority is. And what restrictions it is appropriate to submit ourselves to. • Simply put: Love ought to compel us to seek and speak truth. AND When be begin down the path toward truth, we embark on a dangerous journey. o Consider this path: Seeking truth means that there is truth. The fact that there is truth means there is a right thing to believe. A desire to understand truth or to know the right thing can quickly settle into a satisfaction with being right. And feeling justified in being right can completely replace the hunger for truth altogether if we're not careful.  Prov 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.  As we seek Truth, our heart's attitude ought to be: "Lord, you know," rather than any self-satisfaction with being right.
