She earned MFAs in both creative nonfiction and poetry from University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe. Her debut memoir in verse, Tangled by Blood, bridges motherhood and betrayal, untangling wounds and restorying what it means to be a mother. Along with Tangled by Blood, she’s authored a collection-length poem, Safe Handling, and a flash essay collection, AfterBurn (Moon Tide Press, January, 2026). Rebecca is also the co-editor of the poetry anthology, When There Are Nine, a literary tribute to the life and achievements of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and a co-host of the Writer-to-Writer show on Radio Boise. Rebecca is also a disabled veteran, weaving disability and military experience throughout her work. She teaches workshops through Narratively and the Boise Library System and curates monthly gatherings for writers and creators and also offers empowerment courses to high school teens in the Juvenile system.
