Comics writer and illustrator Jeff Weigel talks about his new YA space adventure graphic novel from Lion Forge Comics, "Quantum Mechanics", as well as his story process, his art process and more.

Jeff breaks down the origins of the story and the two protagonists, and how they keep on working on improving their craft while also figuring ways to get out of their predicament: having been kidnapped by space pirates. His focus on making his lead girls be mechanically inclined and focused on technology and their friendship was an important element of the story.

Another important part of the graphic novel is the back section on how he goes about storytelling and drawing, and teaching and giving advice to kids who may be interested in learning how to draw comics was the inspiration for his Robots and Quicksand website.

Jeff is also the current illustrator for the long-running King Features syndicated newspaper comic strip "The Phantom", the oldest costumed hero in American comics, and you can check those out online.
