An author's words can pull in a reader ... or push him or her away. It's all about the editing that is brought in by another set of eyes.
Did you know that:
-One of the biggest grumbles on Amazon reviews deals with mediocre editing—or lack of any editing.
-Be wary of your own “word blindness” … repeating the same word or phrases ad nauseam in your manuscript is a reader turnoff.
-You should write what you want to write, not what you think will sell. Readers will know you are faking it. Don’t chase fads.
