In 2018, Joseph Reid lost his best friend to suicide. They were each other's mental health support, but now he was alone and felt so Broken! This event catapulted Joe forward to do something about his suffering. To use history and the tools he’d been given and adapted to his life to ease the suffering of others, he wrote his book Broken Like Me. Joseph is the founder of Broken People and leads a support group with the nation's largest grassroots mental health movement NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). 

 

Joseph’s Tips: 

  1. Develop a community around you to help keep you accountable and motivated. 
  2. Be genuine.
  3. Be humble and willing to accept the nos.
