Wrong God!

In the latest episode of Perilous World Radio, hosts Alan Masters from the Foundation of Human Understanding and Brian Bouteller from Grants Pass Gospel Rescue Mission discussed the concept of idolatry and the dangers of worshiping a “wrong God.” They emphasized that anything leading one away from the true path—the truth, the way, and the life—could become an idol. This idolatry can manifest in various forms, such as placing undue focus on a church, a pastor, or even everyday elements like music and food. The hosts presented two significant facets of idolatry. The first involves taking something good and elevating it to the status of ultimate importance, thereby transforming it into an idol. This understanding aligns with the commandment that instructs followers to have no other gods before the true God. The second facet revolves around the notion of holding beliefs about God that are inconsistent with His true nature. Both aspects highlight the importance of staying true to an accurate understanding of God to avoid falling into idolatry.
