G'day friends!
During my walk with my darling boofhead Labrador, Misha this morning, I felt myself feeling gripped by fatigue, lethargy and I’ll be honest, irritability. And so as I walked, I prayed that God would reveal to me why I was feeling fatigued, lethargic and irritable (the latter of which seems to be a common thread through my last couple of podcasts). While I’m not spiritually exhausted, I am finding it a little difficult to concentrate and fully immerse myself in my Bible reading and the wonderful Christian content that I watch and listen to on a regular basis. And so as my dog immersed herself in the sights and smells of our neighbourhood, I prayed fervently that God would reveal to me why I’ve been feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and super sketchy with my overall mood. I mean, not being able to easily remove my phone from my pocket or even the sound of a neighbour tooting their horn as they reverse their car out of their driveaway is enough to propel me close to the edge. It’s all just sitting beneath the surface and try as I might, I sometimes fail to pray or exercise (not exorcise – you can forget that palaver) or sleep the feelings away.
When I got home, I briefly opened X and the first post I saw was from a gentleman who lives in Thailand and who does an enormous amount of work to rescue abused dogs on the streets of Thailand. He wrote candidly about the depression and irritability that has gripped him over the past week or so. Almost every single point in his thread resonated for me and I was so grateful that God led me to his post. I’ll talk about it a little more later in the podcast and leave you with some short scriptures that are currently helping me through my own depression and irritability – which more often than not, go hand in glove.
Today, as always, we’ll take a look at some of the most recent headlines and continue our bible reading. That’s all coming up on today’s Withstand Daily Podcast.
