WTU Medical Evaluation Board MEB Physical Evaluation Board PEB Overview and Key Takeaways
In this episode I will break down key things you should be prepared for when going through the MEB and possibly being referred to the PEB for Medical Retirement or Medical Discharge. Ensuring you are prepared for those 15-30 minute key meetings with staff during the process can save you a lot of stress and work on the back end. If the MEB finds you unfit for duty you are then referred to the PEB which determines at what percentage you are unfit for duty and based on that percentage and other factors you are then either medically retired or medically separated from service. Knowing the difference and why you should stay in the fight to be medically retired is key for you and your family. I will do more individual podcasts on each phase but this is a good overview to get your mind in the right place for the process.
