Germany's occupation of France during World War II brought about many changes to the once free republic, one of the most significant being the establishment of the Vichy Regime as France's new government. Vichy actively collaborated with their Nazi occupiers, through such actions as discrimination against minority groups, such as Jews, and overall contributions to the success of the German war effort. This work explores the formation of Vichy as a government, and its subsequent actions in relation to Nazi collaboration.
