X-Men '97 (Season One)

Listen Later

In this episode, Randy and Kris are joined by an all star panel to discuss the the instant impact of the recent X-Men '97 series. We chat with returning guest John Aspler, an academic with a PhD in ethics/neuroscience and a passion for media analysis. We also welcome Blake Coleman, a law enforcement officer, comic book fan, and the inspiration behind Media/Lit's Equilibrium (2002) episode!

Together, the panelists explore their personal histories with the X-Men before critiquing the original series and season one of the reboot. In addition to digging into our nostalgia and unpacking some of the complex themes that brought both series to life, we also take part in a mini draft to build our own X-Family; each panelist drafts three characters from the recent series to join them in the family Porsche (shout out to the Summers family escape sequence)!

Please listen along with us and vote in our Spotify poll to help us determine who drafted the greatest family of mutants!
