The Xbox Activision deal approved by the EU is good news for Xbox Game Pass games and fans of the system. When the Microsoft Activision Blizzard deal was blocked by the CMA over cloud gaming concerns many thought the EU would follow suit.
While Jim Ryan, Phil Spencer, and Sony have focused on a Call of Duty Xbox exclusive that could hurt the PlayStation 5 and future consoles, the real battle has been over mobile and cloud gaming. The ABK deal is far from over, but did the EU make a compelling case? And the CMA has fired back saying they aren't budging.
