Just 24 hours after Phil Spencer said it would not be and claimed that Baldur's Gate 3 splitscreen was a creative decision by Larian Studios. While this a win for gamers who wanted a Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox release date this year, this has far reaching implications.

The continued debate about the Xbox Series X vs Series S will likely heat up because of this decision from Microsoft. I could also see Xbox first party studios having some hard questions for Phil along with all third party developers who have been taking issue with the Xbox Series S memory bottleneck.
