【學習筆記】

  • Today, we go through a scene between Leo and Jacky, where Leo says to Jacky, "I've looked into it". 今天，我們回顧 Leo 和 Jacky 之間的場景，Leo 對 Jacky 說：「我已經調查過了」。
  • I've looked into it = I did my research, I checked on it.
  • To look into it = to understand something better, 更好地理解某事。

    • Another parent-child scene is between Jacky and Ruby, where Ruby says, "don't put this on me." 另一個親子場景是在Jacky和Ruby之間，Ruby說，“don't put this on me.”

    • Don't put this on me = 別怪我, don't blame me, don't put the fault on me.
    • Continuing the mother-daughter scene, this one happens on page 65, where Jacky says to Ruby, "I thought I would fail you."
    • I thought I would fail you = I thought I would disappoint you, to let you down.
    • To fail someone = to let someone down, to disappoint someone. 讓某人失望。

      • In casual conversation, much of the vocabulary used is very simple. Do you notice phrases with simple words but are used in a way you don't quite understand? 在日常對話中，許多詞彙都非常簡單。 您是否注意到一些單字簡單但使用方式您不太理解的短語？
