May marks the beginning of AAPI Heritage Month — a time to celebrate Asian and Pacific Islander heritage across North America!
五月代表著北美亞太裔傳統月的開始! 當我們慶祝我們的傳統文化時，我決定關注《Past Lives》，因為這是一個奧斯卡提名的亞裔美國人的故事。
As we celebrate the culture of our heritage, I decided to review Past Lives, because it is a true Asian American story, and I think it’s a good time to spotlight stories like this. Stories that juxtapose different expressions of love.

【In this episode】
Spoiler alert* the movie starts and ends with the same scene! It took 2 days to shoot this crucial scene, and as Greta Lee said, "and arguably, the movie's success lives and dies on this bar scene." Today, we look at this scene, and its genesis - where it comes from.
劇透警告*電影以相同的場景開始和結束！這個關鍵場景的拍攝花了兩天時間，正如格蕾塔·李所說，“可以說，這部電影的成功與否取決於這個場景。”
今天，我們來看看這個場景及其它來自哪裡。
"The genesis of that scene was a real life experience (一次真實的生活經歷) where Celine (the film director) found herself flanked by two men - one her husband and the other her childhood sweetheart. And the uncanny and mysterious and profound experience of sitting in the threshold between two men who could know her so completely but in totally different ways, so we really took our time in terms of making sure we could honor what that experience was like."
