【學習筆記】

  • Pull up: when a car pulls up, it means that it stopped.

    • When a car is stopping 當汽車停下來時：

    • If you are outside the car 如果你在車外, the car is pulling up.
    • If you are inside the car 如果您在車內, the car is pulling over.

      • 【關鍵字】

      • Mortified = embarrassed and shocked, in an awkward way.
      • Blasting (很吵) = playing (music) at a very high volume.
      • If music is blasting, perhaps you would want to ask that they "turn it down". 如果音樂很吵，也許你會想要求他們「把它關小」。It is NOT "can you be quiet"
      • To turn it down = to lower the volume 把它關小, 降低音量
      • To turn it up = 調高音量 = to increase the volume, to make it louder. 增加音量，使聲音更大。
      • If someone is really loud, you can ask, can you please keep it down? 你能小聲一點嗎？to keep it down = 小聲一點

        • Other phrases with "up and down"

        • Speed up = to drive faster
        • Slow down = to drive slower
