Today's content 內容 is a follow up to what we talked about before.
In today's session, we look at the phrase, “throw in the towel”
In a previous session, we said that "give it up" doesn’t always mean to give up, but "throw in the towel" does mean to give up, to let go.
On this topic of giving up, there’s another expression:
不要把嬰兒和洗澡水一起倒掉??
The earliest use of this line was recorded in 1512! 文化真的很神奇!
這個表達的字面意思是不要把孩子和洗澡水一起倒掉，但實際要比喻的是不要因為想捨棄某物不好的地方而丟掉了寶貴的部分；不要把精華和糟粕一起丟掉。Don’t give up something valuable while getting rid of something that is not needed.
Stick around = stay with us = 不要走開
