Back in February, Readipop's XOX Project celebrated the Emu SP-12's role in the creation of Hip Hop and Trip Hop.
Guest speaker Tony Nwachukwu (music producer, DJ, lecturer and Music Technology consultant) came to talk about the history of the sampler, demonstrate how to use it and help us discover why it's such an important machine.
Tony Nwachukwu is a founding member of UK trip hop band Attica Project. Formed in 1994, they have released many albums and singles, one of which is 1995's Mo'Wax release "Blueprint", which features the Emu SP-12 on the cover!
This is an interview hosted by Harrison Screen from the first part of the event, check out our other podcast for part two - the showcase!
*This is a live recording, so inconsistent noise throughout*
