Hey Xer's it's the latest and dare I say, most robotic, episode of XRadioX we've ever produced! Maybe the episode with the fake, robotic baby is a bit more robotic than this one. Maybe not?
Anyway...
It's episode 43 and Matt and I tackle the question of Robots and Radio. Ever since you could automate a cart deck to go to the next cart deck with a tone, radio station owners have been trying to strike that balance of automation, scheduling efficiencies and the eternal question of... Do I really need these pesky "personalities" to make this station LIVE and LOCAL. Spoiler Alert... You do, no matter what your reps tell you.
Matt and I do a little talking about AI (Chatty) and how well the algorithm is not only programming your video feeds on YouTube but it's also influencing your music choices. Think about it... If you were into alternative college rock in the 90's, how different is your music feed now versus then? You know it all sounds like late 90's Foo Fighters with a mix of Seven Mary Three, for you know... Variety. You can thank your previous music tastes and Spotty for making every song you like to listen to a variation of Monkey Wrench, Hey Man, Nice Shot and Cumbersome... You know, for variety.
Basically whether you like it our not the robots are taking over.
We also play a game where I totally kick Chatty's robot ass. Go on and listen. You won't be upset.

Hey XRadioXers its another month and time for another episode of your favorite podcast and this time we're taking on the evening radio juggernaut... (cue the bumper)
DELILAH!!!
(tires screeching to a stop) You do know who Delilah is right? You know Delilah... The evening radio host who is basically the sonic version of Chicken Soup For the Soul. She is the the warm blanket that can comfort you on a chilly, rainy night. She's the voice that has stitched together a million broken hearts on your local Adult Contemporary station. Specifically Cars 108 if you live in Flint, MI. ;)
Delilah is kinda like if Oprah and Dear Abby lab built a radio host for middle aged love sick suburban folks who just needed a little musical nudge to say...
And Delilah could give you the advice you need and play you a song to fix the situation. Even if she couldn't fix it she would at least make you feel better about the whole thing.
So, if you didn't know that is what the Delilah radio show is all about. It's the safe space on your radio dial to request relationship advice, get a supportive "atta boy" or just air to the world that you are really sorry about that thing you did to Dawn that one time. I swear Dawn, IT WAS ONLY ONE TIME!!!
So tune in and enjoy XRadioX as we give Delilah a little advice on how she could jazz the show up. A few new songs to play. Maybe throw the word Rizz or Skibidi in there to help some of those confused Millenial parents communicate just a little better with their chat. (Yeah I don't understand what I wrote there either...)

XRadioX Fans!
We rejoin our heroes as they are faced with deciding if Sonny will come home?
Will The Police answer the musical 911 call from within the house?
Is "Bette Davis Eyes" a super fun pop song? SHOULD it be on Jeff's playlist? Is it... Unforgettable?
Or is it forgettable.
Can these friends Change The World with a little help from Dionne and her friends?
Is Jeff broadcasting from a coffee can? A box? A closet? Your mom's basement?
Is Jayce being abducted by aliens mid podcast?
Eric... Willy... Dionne... Kim... More Eric... Shawn... Sting... Wilson... Phillips... The World... Chicago... They're all here! Battling. Singing. And all being done with NO AUTO TUNE!!!
Tune in for this final part of our first ever XRadioX March Music Madness Bracket that was unfortunately delayed to April for your listening pleasure.
You won't be sorry. (No actual guarantees that you actually won't be sorry, but I thought the drama of the statement would be pertinent considering the implied drama of all the other statements made.)
Enjoy!

Hey Xer's! It's the end of April and what type of episode is everyone clamoring for? That's right a March Maddness episode. We know you didn't get enough of Maddness and Brackets in the ACTUAL month of March so we figured we'd give you one in the month of April! We think you missed March, Maddness and Brackets enough for not one BUT TWO episodes. You're welcome.
This episode features Matt, Jayce and their special guest Jeff debating and picking winners when if comes to Grammy winning songs of the 80's versus the 90's. We'll be debating such heavy hitting matchups like Sailing versus From A Distance and Always on My Mind versus Tears in Heaven. Talk. About. A. Slugfest!!!
Matt has a hot take about Beyonce and her new record and Jayce spins a yarn about hands in his pants and they weren't his! Maybe the poop story made the cut... Maybe it didn't. I guess you'll have to listen.
Please enjoy this episode and within a day of publishing this we'll put up part two.
Enjoy and feel free to send feedback to [email protected]

Hey XRadioXers its another month and time for another episode of your favorite podcast and this one is about a game. Not just any game it's...
THE GAME! THE BIG GAME!
The Superbowl, right? NO! It's the Mondegreen Game. Its the game where Matt reads lyrics that people think are correct, but aren't, and then Jayce and the special guest try to see who gets the most correct.
This episode's special guest is Sluys. He's like the Edge, Cher or Jayce because he only needs one name. Sluys went to NMU with Matt and Jayce, he worked with the both of them at WUPX and he got a much better career after graduation than Matt and Jayce. Did you know that during college Sluys and Matt shared an apartment? And in that apartment there was a legendary piece of furniture called The Worm. Nobody knows who manufactured The Worm' and nobody has ever seen The Worm again after graduation. It is legend. Another fun fact: Matt, Jayce and Sluys have all slept in The Worm, individually and not together. Get your mind out of the gutter people... Matts hair wasn't THAT nice. ;)
Tune in and listen to these three play THE GAME!
If you're interested you can revisit the first time Sluys joined us on Episode 6.
Thanks for listening and we'll chat again next month here on XRadioX!

It’s that time of the year again XRadioX fans. It’s the time of the year you feel bad because you forgot to get your cousin Tom, twice removed a cheese log. It’s that time of year where your kids tell you about the palomino that the mysteriously rich family down the road bought for their daughter that looks nothing like her father and mysteriously like her uncle. Jeez… Compensate much? It’s the time of year you make excuses to eat cookies instead of broccoli because, you know, tradition. IT’S. THAT. TIME. OF. YEAR. IT’S F@#K!NG CHRISTMAS FRIENDS!
This year Matt & Jayce started out trying to crap all over Christmas music like they usually do, but mysteriously ended up talking about Christmas music they actually like. Is there a Santa, Mary? There just might be. We talk traditional songs from Bing Crosby, The Andrew Sisters, Frank Sinatra and Burl Ives to more contemporary songs from The Dropkick Murphy’s, Ru Paul and various renditions of Last Christmas. Is Mariah the Queen of Christmas? SPOILER ALERT!!! The Patent and Trademark Office says NO! See Mary, there is a Santa!
Tune in and enjoy us talking Christmas music and enjoy the playlist attached here. Be warned, this is generally music for people of a certain age. (That means some is not for kids!)
We appreciate you listening and would love to hear from you Xwitter, in a review on Goodpods or Apple or just send us an old school e-mail ([email protected]).
We appreciate you all and wish you a very, VERY, Merry Christmas.

HAPPY NEW YEAR XRADIOX FANS!!!
Let’s get this year started with a question. Have you ever wondered if two people who have really never listened to Country music BUT have both actually worked at a Country station could program a Classic Country station?
You haven’t? That’s understandable. You probably have your priorities straight and are a very successful person in real life. You probably also are fit, enjoy the company of others, have a prosperous 401k, have a favorite wine and are just a well rounded person.
You have!?! Then this episode is for you!!! Matt and Jayce think about this stuff all the time and are convinced they could musically fix ANY and ALL music stations out there in radio land and this month we fix your Classic Country station.
Here’s how this goes, Matt went out and got the playlists from some of the top Classic Country station PD’s like Westwood One and Elmer Aho. Jayce said I can do you one better and created his own.
There’s music talk, a few jokes and two friends who are CONVINCED they can fix your station if you’d only just ask.
Sit down, tune in and enjoy our latest episode of XRadioX.
Catch us online on Instagram, X (fka Twitter), HERE or email us at [email protected].
Check out the playlists for the show here - Westwood One - Elmer Aho - Jayce’s Classic Country Radio
P.S. Jayce does have a 401k and he is working on it but he does not have a favorite wine and refuses to work on that. ;)

Hey Xers!!! It's that time of the year here in the good ol' US of A! It's Homecoming season!
Did you go? Did you have a date? Did you fly solo because you had a girlfriend/boyfriend you met at summer camp who resided in Canada? Right... Canada. Are you from Germany and have NO IDEA what we're talking about?
Here is your primer.
It's a time of parades, football games, Homecoming Courts, getting dressed up, getting pictures taken, fancy dinners, Kings, Queens and of course... Slow Dancing.
Matt and Jayce are now both fathers and Jayce even has kids going to the BIG DANCE! They just have a good time discussing things they did and a little bit of what kids are doing now. They talk some music and somehow (as it usually does) devolves into sophmoric humor about erectile dysfunction medication.
And just so you know. Yes I went. Yes, my date was on the Homecoming court. AND YES... She sleeps next to me every night these days. I'm a stud, I know.
So tune in and take a little trip down memory lane. Hell! Send us your Homecoming story at [email protected].
And as usual... Thanks again XRadioXer's!

James Kochalka SUPERSTAR logged in and recorded a fun interview with us that ranged from Jayce's sons laughing in the car at his song Pony The Penis... to the always fresh Monkey vs. Robot... to Matt asking about his process... to discussing his different albums... to Jayce getting cities in Vermont mixed up... All the way to the end where we hear the story of him and his band accidentally being sent to Marquette University instead of Marquette, MI to play an epic show in spite of an epic snow storm.
Who is James Kochalka you may ask?
He is...
A wildly prolific artist, James Kochalka (kah-chall-ka) has been creating iconic indie comics and bizzarely catchy punk rock since the early 80s. He is a two-time winner of the prestigious eisner award and in 2011 was named the first cartoonist laureate of his home state of vermont. his song “britney’s silver can” was on rolling stone’s Best Songs of 2006, and his song “Hockey Monkey” was the theme to fox sitcom “the loop.”
I lifted that from this website here.
Coincidentally this episode is releasing the same day as his new album Pop Popular.
You can head over to his Bandcamp Page and pick it up along with his entire discography. We did not plan this but we figured since we're going to get that sweet James Kochalka SUPERSTAR bump we should give his new record that equally sweet XRadioX bump. (Seriously folks... Don't make Matt & Jayce look like punks.)
You can find James on Top Shelf Comix, YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. Go check out his stuff!
Thanks for listening and check out the XRadioX primer on James Kochalka here!
We're out of characters for typing now.
Thanks.
Bye!
