Judy Bowe is a sister from the Missionaries of God’s Love, whose focus is evangelisation, especially of young people. She has worked in youth ministry, formation and leadership for over 20 years. Her aim is to inspire people to understand and know God’s love personally and to help them to naturally and attractively share it with the people in their lives.

How do we go about sharing our faith? One of the most effective ways is to pray with the Word of God, assimilating it until it becomes part of ourselves. Then when we evangelise we give Jesus, alive in our hearts. This can transform the world, our society and our families. Verbum Dei will share from their experiences and demonstrate a method of praying with the Word of God in small groups that can lead people to Jesus.

In 1998 Kylie Cullen (BA, BTh, STB) entered the Verbum Dei Missionary Fraternity, an Institute of Consecrated Life, in Sydney and professed her Perpetual Vows in 2009. She has dedicated herself to their specific charism of prayer and ministry of the Word through facilitating spiritual retreats, schools of the Word, schools of formation and sacramental programmes in the parish.

Reaching Gen Y

How do we reach Gen Y? Has the ramped up culture of novelty

seeking, consumerism and sexualisation taken its toll? Do we need

new strategies or are their tried and true methods for helping to

ignite the faith of our young people? Youth Mission Team leaders

and members will share from their extensive experience.

Steve Toohey, the Director of the Youth Mission Team

Australia (YMT), with 25 yrs of youth ministry experience, will

present this workshop with the Sydney YMT. YMT runs high

school retreats and weekends for youth based on peer-to-peer

evangelisation. Operating for 27 years, there are 4 teams in

operation around Australia made up of young men and women

(age 18 - 30) who volunteer to join a team for one year.

The establishment of a new Pontifical Council for the promotion of the New Evangelization in 2010 and the Synod scheduled later this year on "The New Evangelization for the Transmission of the Faith", demonstrate that the New Evangelisation is a high priority for the Church. How are we to understand this move of the Holy Spirit? How can we become involved in the New Evangelisation in our own circumstances?

Cathy Kennedy is the Director of CREDO, the Archdiocesan office for Evangelisation and Renewal. She has been involved in evangelisation and ministry at the parish, school and missionary level for over 25 years.

the Most Holy Eucharist (France), about how Eucharistic Adoration,

Eucharistic Adoration in our communities.

Most Holy Eucharist, based in the south of France; a

small community of priests, deacons and seminarians

dedicate to loving and spreading devotion to the Real

Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
