On this episode of Xtreme Lyfe, Crossfit Games adaptive athlete Amy Bream shares her inspirational story. Below is a little bit about Amy in her own words.
I’m a Nike adaptive athlete with a passion for challenging myself with new boundaries and physical limits. I was born with PFFD, meaning I’m missing the majority of my right leg. I’ve never had an amputation and have used a prosthesis since I was one year old. I never pursued any type of athletics until after I moved to Nashville and started working out at a boxing gym in 2015. Since then, my skill and confidence as an athlete has grown exponentially. I started training and competing in CrossFit in 2021 in the adaptive lower extremity division. Since then I have competed in both the 2021 and 2022 Crossfit Games, WheelWod Games, and have won my division at Wodapalooza in both 2022 and 2023.
Did you ever wonder what it is like doing crossfit on an island in the Caribbean? This week on Xtreme Lyfe I interview the owner and Head coach at CrossFit Flamingo, Damien de Wit. Awesome people and a great story. I enjoyed my time with them and can't wait to go back and train with them again. If you go to Bonaire make sure you stop in and get a workout in.
