YAAAASVU

You were promised Snoop Dogg. You wanted Snoop Dogg. You got Snoop Dogg -- for all of about 4 minutes. But you get Justin and Mal for an hour and change, so even trade, right? We follow a rap battle that's possibly gone wrong in "Diss", discussing topics like east coast/west coast, names that feel like an attack, and the name of that one guy. You know. That guy. The one with the thing. You know.

Mal's in a rush this week, so it's a short(ish) and sweet new episode covering a terribly dark SVU case. S17E4 "Institutional Fail" guest stars the amazeballs Whoopi Goldberg, and Mal's story about how the wonderful comedian introduced her to--let's call it humor-question-mark--explains so, so many of Justin's sighs at her expense. They also talk about their terrible memories when it comes to 90's dad names, police ranks, and whether or not they've covered episodes of the show with appearances from Orange is the New Black actors. *sigh*

Mal can't seem to remember names or words in this episode, but we still manage to cover the Mariska-less S8E2 "Clock" and get real deep on appropriate ransom amounts, Metzger Wickersham (get into it) and how inconsequential family drama plots are to Justin. We're a bit of a mess, but we're a good mess with good meds. Listen and learn.

Once Mal stops shuffling her boxes around, take a dive into the latest episode where your hosts cover S9E16 "Closet." While B&E try and suss out the true story behind a murder and a secretly gay football player, J&M ponder true names, fake presidents and more movies Justin hasn't seen. Why? Listen and find out!

Since Mal loves a pattern, we cover S5E23 "Bound" on the latest podcast, featuring returning guest star Anthony Rapp as well as Jane Krakowski in a uniquely soft but powerful performance that is super dark--you know, SVU-style. We also try to uncover who exactly Sylvia is and pitch our new reality TV show "Extreme Nursing." Wouldn't you watch that?

WE'RE BACK! It's a new year and we finally got our shit together long enough to bring you a brand new episode. To start off, Justin and Mal look at S14E8 "Lessons Learned" to learn a lesson or two about institutional abuse, the mystery of a Dick Cheney lookalike, and how you waste the talents of an actor like Elliott Gould. We're making an effort here, so the least you do is listen ;)

Has it been a long journey? Yes. Is that because it took us the better part of a month to record again? Maybe. But at last, just in time for you to have gotten over the Turkey Day food coma you were in, the final leg of our quest to explore Olivia's relationship with the brother she never knew she had. With S13E16 "Child's Welfare," Mal and Justin discuss Simon's new battle with the system, while also following an abandoned baby case that gets real weird, real quick. I mean, what the hell is taking CODIS so long? Maybe you'll find out once you've checked out the episode!

After a couple of weeks' silence, we finally bring you Part 2 in our latest saga! In S8E19 "Florida", we pick up not too far from Part 1, with brother Simon on the lam and sister Olivia on the hook for it. Along the way, Justin and Mal touch on the merits of "Petunia" as a name, the career of the episode's eponymous rap artist (you'll get it), and one of our hosts gets a scare just in time to ring in the end of the Halloween season. Which host, you ask? You'll have to listen to find out.

SAGA ALERT!!!

That's right, now that Mal's all settled in her new home, it's time to dive into another multi-episode tale with our SVU crew. This time around, we join Olivia as she tries to find out more about her past through her new-found brother, Simon Marsden, starting with S8E16 "Philadelphia." Trigger warning for mixed metaphors, cereal talk, J-Lo...ehhh, you know what? You'll be fine.

We couldn't put up a brand new episode this week, so we're extending that anniversary spirit by bringing you a remastered version of our very first episode. Back when Mal and Justin still had podcast diapers on, they covered S3E11 "Monogamy" and S7E8 "Starved." These inaugural episodes are packed with guest stars (Dean Cain, John Ritter), fucked up cases, and began the saga that brought us to where we are today. Time travel with us, won't you?
