Exodus 17:8-16; God is our King, it is under his banner (battle standard) that we fight. Like Joshua was spurred on by Moses' prayer, God often strengthens us through his people. Similar to Joshua, we cannot always see the effect of prayer or the Lord working because we are focused on the battle at hand. While it is certain that God will deliver us, we do not know if it will be before Christ's return. Victory is at hand, the cross is our battle standard.
