YAP WEI SIN - SA-MALAYSIA RELATIONS

South Africa-Malaysia relations were forged on the bonds of solidarity established in the anti-apartheid, liberation struggle. Full diplomatic relations were established on 8 November 1993 and the South African Embassy was opened on 17 January 1994 in Kuala Lumpur. Following South Africa's readmission to the Commonwealth on 1 June 1994, it was renamed the South African High Commission. Since then, the two countries have exchanged many high-level visits, and the bilateral relationship grew from strength to strength through the 1990’s into the mid 2000’s.
We had the honour to host in studio the Deputy High Commissioner of Malaysia to South Africa, Mr Yap Wei Sin who shared details of relations between the two countries.
