This week is part 1 of a 2 part series looking at some of the influential women of the American Revolution. This week’s episode will focus on the women thinkers and writers of this time who influenced society’s views on the Revolution and influenced many of the founding fathers. We’ll be talking about Catharine Macaulay-a very famous historian & political writer, Mercy Otis Warren-also a very famous political writer & poet, Phillis Wheatley-an enslaved woman who rose to fame through her poetry, which helped her secure her freedom, & Mary Katharine Goddard-whose name appears on the Declaration of Independence.
