Jesus calls us to lose our lives in order to save them.  This upside down directive plays into more than just biblical salvation.  The more we let go of our own perceptions, ideologies, and expectations the more we receive what are hearts are really looking for.  God calls us into a journey of growing trust in Him, laying down our minds, wills and emotions to experience His mind, will and emotions.
